Description
This is a capture of me playing through GG Aleste II for the Sega Game Gear. This is being played through the Aleste Collection for the Switch. I’m playing on normal difficulty.
Following up on my GG Aleste playthrough, here’s the sequel: GG Aleste II. Like the first game, GG Aleste II was not originally released for the Game Gear in the U.S. However, it did have a European release under the title of Power Strike II.
GG Aleste II makes some improvements upon the first game such as better graphics, shorter, more concise levels, and the inclusion of bombs (called G Strikes). You can also generate a shield every time you collect 20 P Chips, which can absorb one hit. However, it’s basically more of the same.
This was a little more challenging than the first game (which is to be expected with most sequels), so it took me about a month to finally record a no-death run. Enemy patterns were a little more erratic and harder to read. Instead of the homing shot, I ended up preferring the Napalm because of how it destroys enemy shots and covers much of the screen. Anyway, enjoy the footage.
Recorded with the Elgato Game Capture HD60 and the Switch's HDMI cable at native 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second. I'm using a retro-bit Sega Genesis 8-button Arcade Pad (2.4 GHz Wireless version).
