Description
Most teenagers count on a driver's license for freedom. Mackenzie counts on her guide dog, Jen. Together, this team is discovering that independence isn't about how you get there, it's about having the confidence to go.
Video Description:
A young blonde woman hugs a black Labrador in a sunny park. A hand grips the handle of a guide dog harness. The woman and the black Lab walk through a shopping plaza courtyard. She wears a bright purple backpack. The dog leads her to a crosswalk and stops. An instructor enters a room holding the Lab's leash. The dog trots to a woman sitting in a blue chair. Its tail wags wildly. She pets the dog. The dog licks her face and jumps into her lap.
The guide dog team approaches a table with the instructor following behind. The dog rests its head on a chair. The woman reaches out and finds her. The team walks through downtown St. Petersburg. The dog stops at the edge of a street as cars pass. The pair walk confidently along the sidewalk. They pause in front of the Museum of Fine Arts. A pink display featuring a carriage and horses sits nearby. Someone takes their photo.
The team crosses another street. The dog stops at the truncated domes and places its front paws on the textured surface. It looks up at the woman. The video ends with the woman embracing her guide dog in the park.
