Description

Ferrari poster on your bedroom wall growing up? This one is for you.

The Ferrari 849 Testarossa Spider is the open-top flagship with 1,036bhp, and a name that traces back to Le Mans victories in 1958, 1960 and 1961, and the most powerful drop-top Ferrari ever made. In India it is priced at ₹11.26 crore ex-showroom.

The V8 twin-turbo makes 819bhp. Three electric motors, two at the front, one between engine and gearbox adding another 217bhp from a 7.9kWh battery. Zero to 100 in 2.25 seconds. Zero to 200 in 6.25 seconds. Top speed over 330kmph. Physical switches are back on the steering wheel. The roof retracts in 14 seconds at up to 45kmph. The Spider is 90kg heavier than the coupe but still matches it to 100kmph exactly. Around Fiorano it is only half a second slower.

On the road, the Ferrari 849 Testarossa Spider is muscular and explosive. Light steering, virtually no turbo lag, and a V8 that delivers fabulous part-throttle response. The way Ferrari melds ICE and electric power, it is consistent, proportionate, never jarring. Sport mode is where you live on public roads. Race mode is where it gets serious. Qualifying mode exists. Use it at your own risk.

Ferrari never officially built a Testarossa Spider in period. There was exactly one — made for Gianni Agnelli, whispered about by collectors for 35 years. At ₹11.26 crore, this is the car the rest of us finally get to order.
