Turkey quills - good, cheap, stiff feather. You can get real great shapes with these
Goose Nagoire - great feather for the tops of wings. Great shape, soft, good coverage
-Side note- dont get satinettes
Marabou Turkey Fluff Feather - great for maximum soft, fluffy fuzz! you can get it in boas for easy aplication.
- dont get T- base plumage
Rooster tail feathers (coque) - lovely VS style feather. Great movement, lovely coverage, nice and long. Comes in many lengths
Rooster Schaplan - small, but a good accent feather when you want to add some iridecence to a set.
Ostrich - long, fluffy and super bouncy! great for nice, soft looking wings.
Reeves pheasant IS ACTUALLY RINGNECK!!! IM A DOPE! - stiff, "sharp" pointy feather. Long, ish, basically a stiff version of a rooster tail. still has bounce and movement, but stiffer.
Actual reeves pheasant - similar to ringneck but can get much longer ones. Sill VERY thin, but you can get them 60in long. A bit more curve to them with that size, though the smaller ones are almost indistinguishable from ringneck in form and function. Slightly different natural coloration
Lady Amherst pheasant side tail feather- lovely broad tail feather, comes in lots of sizes, but suuuuuper long ones are available.
Lady Amherst pheasant center tail feather - odd shape, but super long, comes in lots of colors, and is SUPER fun to work with. Does not look like a traditional wing feather, so best used in fantasy/VS wings where you want to get a little crazy :P
Silver pheasant - ::drool:: the most expensive, and therefore obviously it had to be my favorite, feather. Lovely, broad, comes in every color, and can be super long and beautiful. A bit transparent, and some natural striping on lower half of one side. easily hidden. Lovely bounce and sway, lovely coverage, I cant get enough of them TT_TT
