170-Foot Spike Completed on the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster at Universal Orlando! Construction on Fast & Furious at Universal Studios has reached a major milestone as the coaster's towering 170-foot spike is now complete.
The project continues to make rapid progress, with several major additions bringing the overall layout into much clearer focus. Behind the Universal Plaza stage, crews have installed a new series of supports while additional track continues to fill in the coaster's layout.
Manufactured by Intamin, Hollywood Drift will use the company's innovative drifting ride vehicles. The attraction follows an out-and-back layout stretching from the back of Universal Studios Florida toward CityWalk where the bulk of the layout is located, before returning to the station.
