On May 1, 2025, Reading, Pennsylvania police responded to an anonymous 911 call describing two men standing over a woman tied up on the ground beside a blue hatchback. What officers actually found was Ryan Ryan… alone. Fixing the malfunctioning lights on his Volkswagen after pulling off the highway.
What followed was captured on the officers' own body cameras. An unlawful demand for identification. The subsequent unlawful arrest, and a felony prosecution.
On February 19, 2026, the Court of Common Pleas of Berks County suppressed the evidence. On May 29, 2026, the court dismissed every charge and discharged him. He has since moved for the return of his property and stated he is seeking counsel to pursue a federal civil-rights lawsuit.
