A-1 Yola is Esham's tenth solo studio album, released April 19, 2005, on Psychopathic Records. It was his second and final release for the label before he returned to his own Reel Life Productions imprint. The album was recorded at The Lotus Pod in Detroit, and the CD included a bonus DVD of music videos for almost every track. A-1 Yola broke the Billboard 200 and reached number 6 on the Heatseekers Chart. In 2005, charting was based on physical CDs scanned at retail, a much different bar for an independent release than today's streaming-driven numbers.
