‘The Chromatic Sessions’ EP is available today on Bandcamp, both digital and on coloured 7" vinyl.
The 7" vinyl comes in red, gold and blue as a bundle of three. Each bundle is limited to 150 sets and each vinyl contains all three tracks, exclusively on Bandcamp.
It also comes with free PDFs of the sheet music. I wanted to offer the sheet music because when people get involved in playing the music, it becomes part of them in a different way. It becomes communal. It becomes theirs.
The tracks are improvised piano pieces recorded in single takes in my studio in quiet moments of creation and spontaneous exploration. A synaesthetic mingling of visual and sonic sensations of three colors -, gold, red and blue. I’ve always loved triptychs in art and film, and I think the simplicity of these colors can have many meanings for the listener. Colors can tell a story without language — in the same way that music can, too.
