Together with the new millennium the most important and impressive hip-hop record ever came out: 2001 by Dr. Dre. It was for me one of the records that changed my life, my mentor from that moment on everything concerning the production of beats, the sound of the voices and the reference in the mixes (the voices were recorded with a Sony C800G microphone, the same that I wanted for so long until I bought one and today it remains my first choice). This record also features my favorite beat ever, from the song "Big Ego's". The beats were mostly made on a pair of AKAI MPC3000s, the rest being played. By ear and now by heart I redid my version paying close attention to getting those exact sounds, with 3 of my favorite machines: a #Roland SP404 and the 2 #TeenageEngineering OP-1 and OP-Z
* the sounds have been meticulously prepared before then performing the live performance, without cuts.
