Dora shares an apartment with a Muslim roommate, and when the roommate’s very conservative mom came to visit, things got complicated fast.

Because of her beliefs, the mom didn’t want Dora in the apartment at all during her visit — even just for one day. Dora was asked to leave her own home so the mom wouldn’t see that her daughter lives with a non-family roommate.

Dora pays rent, had work to do, and didn’t feel comfortable being kicked out of her own place… so she refused.

Her roommate was upset and said Dora was being selfish and disrespectful to her culture. Now Dora feels guilty and confused.
