Using an ESP8266 board and an optocoupler, we measure the oscillations in the power grid and calculate its frequency with high precision. We take you step by step through the process of building the circuit and testing it, also we provide the code for programming the ESP8266. With the help of a slow-motion camera, we demonstrate the fascinating property of frequency synchronization in the power grid. This video is a must-watch for anyone interested in electronics, energy systems, and the power grid.
