This is a fun little project that I built on the afternoon of Oct. 13. It was based on an awesome fake severed arm costume posted on Reddit, and that gave me the idea for this project. It’s not animatronic or controlled by smoke or anything like that- the zombie’s hand is my real hand, and the hand holding it around the wrist is fake. You can see how thick my wrist is in the jacket towards the end of the video. The zombie glove is a spandex glove with an opening in the wrist for my real hand, and then it is filled with a carved foam core for the forearm muscles. It’s painted a butt-load if liquid latex of varying gross colors and sprinkled with sand and latex/tissue bits, with foam arm bones protruding. Then the arm was lightly misted with black and brown paint to even it out, and flicked with some blood splatter. Finally some glossy latex spray to break up the flat texture. The fake glove hand is filled with a tinfoil armature that allows it to keep the shape of a hand grasping a wrist, knuckles and all. It’s a fun, quick project and makes for a pretty cool party trick so I suggest you try it out! Here is a more in-depth DIY-
