I can't believe I actually pulled this off. This is the first ever kill after the Revelry event, and World's 2nd kill overall. It took 50 total hours of in-game time to complete and I couldn't be happier omg
To try and answer as many questions as possible, here's the complete run-down of how this strategy made this kill possible, why I'm labelling it as the first kill 'post-Revelry', and other small things about this encounter:
BASIC STRATEGY:
The top-tree arcstrider super grants Combination Blow, which increases your melee damage for every charged-melee kill, and it stacks up to three times. Running the Gambler's Dodge allows you to get a charged melee back for every time you dodge near an enemy, and every charged melee kill with top-tree grants a dodge. Stack x3 Combination Blow with Liar's Handshake, Tractor Cannon, and One-Two Punch (full shotgun pellet spread hitting an enemy grants increased melee damage), you're able to do enough damage to send Riven to final stand in only two floors under a specific sequence of meleeing/shotgunning.
THE EYES:
Since Riven starts on either "tree" side, or "crystal" side, it's a 1/2 chance you'll have her on the crystal side. If a shadow moves across the black panel on the opposite end of the room, she's starting tree side, which is what you need, since you are not able to damage riven during her "stun" phases. If you get her on tree side first, you need to clear all enemies and stack combination blow in preparation for Riven. After damage is done, you have a 1/10 chance for first eye, then a 1/9 chance for second eye, since it is a complete guess, making it a total of 1/45 chance (or 2.22%) that the eye combination is correct. Do the same thing for second floor, and you send her to final. Everything afterward is self explanatory.
So, the reason why this is being labelled a "first ever, post patch kill" is because the strategy for the worlds first kill is no longer possible, due to a patch of Combination Blow unintentionally increasing Arcstrider damage. This kill was also made easier because of the Tonics during the Revelry event. The class ability Tonic allowed the ascendant realm to be easier due to being able to constantly regen health with Wormhusk, as well as being able to use it for instant reloading with rockets during final stand. I just wanted to point this out so I don't rub anyone the wrong way, Tazus deserved the first solo and is a very humble dude, this isn't about discrediting him at all :)
