Following the global success of Illumination's Minions: The Rise of Gru, which captured almost $1 billion worldwide in 2022, the iconic franchise embarks on a new adventure. Gru and Lucy, brought to life by Oscar® nominee Kristen Wiig, along with their endearing girls Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), and Agnes (Madison Polan), welcome a new member to the family: Gru Jr., a mischievous young boy determined to cause chaos for his father.
Facing a formidable new nemesis, Maxime Le Mal, voiced by Emmy winner Will Ferrell, and his alluring partner Valentina, played by Emmy nominee Sofia Vergara, the Gru family finds themselves on the run. This extraordinary film introduces a host of fresh characters voiced by talented actors, including Joey King (Bullet Train), Emmy winner Stephen Colbert (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert), and Chloe Fineman (Saturday Night Live). The iconic voices of the Minions return with Pierre Coffin, while Oscar® nominee Steve Coogan reprises his role as Silas Ramsbottom.
Despicable Me 4 promises non-stop action and Illumination's signature subversive humor under the direction of Oscar® nominee Chris Renaud (Despicable Me, The Secret Life of Pets), co-creator of the Minions. The film is produced by Illumination's visionary founder and CEO Chris Meledandri, alongside Brett Hoffman (executive producer, The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Minions: The Rise of Gru). Patrick Delage (animation director Sing 2 and The Secret Life of Pets 2) joins Renaud as co-director, while the screenplay is crafted by Emmy-winning creator of White Lotus, Mike White, alongside veteran writer Ken Daurio, who has penned every Despicable Me film.
