At TX2K26, I got behind the wheel of a stock Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 to take on the all-new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X in the race everyone wanted to see.
But what most people didn’t see was everything behind the scenes.
The Demon 170 was raced completely cold at the owner’s request — no proper transmission heat, no ideal prep. The first pass even stalled twice. Even with that, I cut the better light, had the stronger launch, and was out front early.
