2nd track from "This Ain't Hollywood" (1980). If you like your Yacht Rock smooth but still a little gritty, guitar-driven, and with a more bluesy Michael McDonald-style lead vocal, this just might be your CCM album! I like every cut but this is my favorite. It's a pop rock song that contrasts the two very different comings of Christ—the sacrificial Lamb of God versus the conquering Lion King.
While the Old Testament prophesies both of these things about the Messiah, it's not always clear that it's referring to two DIFFERENT comings. This can be rather confusing, not only to the Jewish people who were (and still are) expecting a mighty, liberating hero, but also to scoffers who see Jesus as a wimp who got himself killed. But, hey... There. Will. Come. A. Day! A day when He will come back in all his glory and reign over the entire earth as the King of kings and Lord of lords. Then, and only then, will there be world peace. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! :)
