Hello! A bit of an early 2019 send off here! And yes, I am alive!
It's been a very very very long time since I've last uploaded, and I do sincerely apologize for that.
I've spent quite some time considering songs to upload, "It's Time" by Imagine Dragons, "Feel Special" by Twice, and this (among many others). This song has plagued me for the past 2 months since it came out. Seriously, I've tried so hard to make an epic cover for this, had a super energetic chorus, interesting ideas for the bridge, but I just couldn't find a way to make the verse(s) sound... lively, fun? While I may have been too hard on myself, this song has had me seriously stuck in a creative slump.
I eventually gave up... but found myself feeling pretty guilty. So just before my flight back home for Christmas season, I decided to take a slower approach and just improvise the song. You can say I kept everything really bare bones, but tbh, that was honestly just a reflection of my current state with piano. I've really been just out of creativity and almost every time I sat down at the piano, I ended up getting up with feelings of disappointment.
Well enough bad vibes! While this song was recorded during one of my lowest lows in terms of piano, it does serve as a possible turning point. I have some sense of satisfaction with this, and I hope that this can be the start of a little momentum for me going into 2020. Big things are coming up this year, with hopefully graduation, possible licensure exam(s), and plenty of review. Going to be pretty busy, but I do still intend to continue playing piano. So, if all goes well, I'll catch you guys next year :D
How have you guys been? Still on break for the next 5 or so days, so this time I'll probably have to reply to comments xD
(I'm sorry for not replying to older stuff, it just feels awkward replying already months later)
