I hope you guys like this video! I put my heart and soul into it!
Before starting to draw Panels: Things to know!
1. Make sure you have your character sheets!
2. Practice drawing panels using television shows and look at the patterns they use for each camera angle and setting.
3. Plan everything! Using a script or drawing it out. USE REFERENCES. TRUST ME.
4. Practice drawing your characters digitally if you’re going to draw them digitally. I used to draw them on paper but they would still look different digitally :C.
Webtoon Requirements + My calculations:
To upload on webtoon each page has to be 800px by 1280px
I enlarge it to be... 800px x 3 = 2400px
1280 x 3= 3840
3840 x 5= 19200px
I want 5 pages together on my Clip Studio: 1280px by 19200px
Programs I use:
Paint Tool Sai
Clip Studio Paint
Photoshop (Optional)
How to draw and use layers efficiently:
1. Simplify everything, less layers is easier to work with.
2. Coloring: Color the base colors and then use an overlay layer to create shading
3. Find a way to make coloring quicker and line art quicker. That may be less line art. Less layers, or less coloring.
Things I would change moving forward:
1. I want to use paint tool sai for line art instead of CSP because it is smoother for me (and more fun) ...but I changed my mind half way
2. I want to use less layers because it takes me forever to find the layer I used
3. Use more panels! I like things to be simple but more panels can sometimes help with flow!
4. I need to add more dialogue. Use dialogue to tell the story, otherwise it will get boring to read.
5. Keep going! Nothing will be perfect, so don’t keep re-doing it. Just do you best and frickin post it!
Next episode will be me incorporating all the things I want to change and a full walkthrough of coloring, adding effects, etc.
