Moenkhausia costae, the Costae Tetra, is often confused with the Penguin Tetra but this schooling fish from Brazil’s São Francisco and Itapicuru rivers has its own story. Peaceful and active, it’s best kept in groups of 6 or more, and successful breeding in home aquariums is still rare.
