One night after a show I had just gotten back to my hotel room and was looking for the sticky note pad of paper in the room. It turned out to be in the nightstand drawer and sitting right next to it was a bible. In that moment I wondered if that bible had a story outside of what was written in it. If maybe there ever someone who was going through something they couldn’t really get out of and by opening it up and reading some of the stories they were reminded they don’t have to be stuck. Reminded there is hope. I’ve had many of those moments myself so I decided to write about it and ‘Hotel Bible’ is what came out.

At the Holiday Inn there’s a book in the drawer
With a note that says read me to know of the Lord
But that dust on the cover
Tells me it ain’t been opened in years
I shake my head cause isn’t it ironic
It’s a lot like my heart if I’m being honest
Just seeing it hiding there
Well that’s bout to bring me to tears
Oh, and I know
Just what I need Lord, I'm rededicating
My life so I find those red letters and pray em
You lead the way through the pages
And make this revival

70 rooms filled with travelers and maids
Check in leave your bags and just go bout your day
But it seems like the Lord’s got something more for me
That dust from the book and that dust on my knees
Fall down to the ground and I say I believe that
You’re what I need Lord, I'm rededicating
