Cardano Vision 26: Human-Centred, Scalable and Post-Quantum Secure

Input Output Group Video 1 months ago

Description

"This Cardano R&D Session introduces Cardano Vision 2026 – the treasury proposal from IOR to deliver a research and development roadmap focused on preparing Cardano for the next era of blockchain through post-quantum security, scalable consensus, and trust-minimized verification. As quantum computing accelerates and demand for throughput grows, the ability to secure on-chain value and scale without compromising decentralization has become essential.

The session lays out a restructured research program –15 market-oriented initiatives across six technical work packages – delivered through a worldwide 9-partner consortium and an evidence-based, stage-gated innovation funnel. Featuring insights from leading researchers, the discussion explores quantum-secure replacements for Cardano's core cryptographic primitives, Linear Leios and Peras consensus work to boost throughput and settlement speed, foundational research into sharding and decentralized identity, and a generic zero-knowledge verification wrapper designed to improve developer experience and interoperability.

Cardano Vision 2026 positions security as the network's core value proposition while shifting treasury focus increasingly toward utility and developer experience. This session marks a pivotal step toward a research-driven, quantum-resistant, and highly scalable Cardano.
