In this video, I’m testing the STR8 JAKT, a rather unusual golf training aid designed to stop golfers from swinging over the top.
The over-the-top movement is responsible for countless slices, pulls and inconsistent strikes. But what if you could actually prevent your body and arms from making that movement in the first place?
That’s exactly what this training aid is designed to do!
I’ll explore how restricting certain movements can help golfers understand the correct relationship between the arms and body, encourage a better downswing path and potentially develop a more consistent golf swing.
In this video, we’ll look at:
Why golfers swing over the top.
How the STR8 JAKT training aid works.
What happens when your arms are restricted.
How to encourage a better downswing sequence.
Whether this unusual training aid could help improve your ball striking.
Sometimes the best way to learn a new movement is to make the old one more difficult!
Have you struggled with an over-the-top golf swing? Let me know in the comments whether you’d try this training aid.
