The orangutans were reported in an isolated habitat in East Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo). The minimal food was putting the mother and babies in a high risk situation. Immediately upon receiving news of these distressed orangutans, CAN teams traveled to the location and carried out detailed monitoring, and then took quick action to save the mother and her two babies. The precious family was relocated to a suitable forest area. 3 lives saved!
Orangutan Outreach is proud to provide funding for these important missions. This is what your donations help us accomplish!
Thank you so much for your generous support!

The rescue team received a report regarding the presence of a female orangutan with her two twin babies in a fragmented area. The isolated habitat conditions and minimal food sources put them in a high risk situation. The team immediately went to the location and carried out monitoring. After confirming the conditions in the field, the team took quick action to save the mother and her two babies. The evacuation process was carried out carefully for the safety of the mother and twin orangutan babies. They were then moved to a better forest area with intact forest cover and adequate food sources so that they have a safer and more sustainable chance of survival.
