Can AI Design Better Stairs? Testing the Biometric Stair Calculator

Description

https://www.homebuildingandrepairs.com/books/index.html - Are the classic "17-inch" or "25-inch" stair design rules really the best way to build a staircase? In this video, I test out an AI-generated biometric stair calculator that claims to find the "perfect" stair geometry based on a person's height, weight, and shoe size.

We explore how changing these individual variables alters the recommended riser height and tread depth. Does extra weight mean you need shorter risers to protect your knees? Does a larger shoe size guarantee a deeper tread? I run through different scenarios, including my own measurements, to see if the AI's math holds up to real-world carpentry experience. While I'm not convinced this tool replaces tried-and-true stair building practices, it raises interesting questions about customized stair ergonomics.
