Disco Elysium, a dystopian detective RPG, has been hailed as presenting "a new standard in RPG Writing" (PCGamesN). The main character, who interacts as much with the voices in his own head as he does with his begrudging partner (if not more), has suffered a catastrophic memory lapse in the midst of local political upheaval. As events unfold, he must uncover the mysteries of his own mind, let alone his involvement in the crisis, past, present, and future.
