Dilla, and the responsibility of bringing Dilla's unreleased beats to life — for the second time. (This comes almost 10 years after the Dillagence mixtapes, released shortly after the producer’s untimely passing. Dilla is responsible for some of the most iconic cuts in hip-hop and soul, from Q-Tip to Erykah Badu, Common to the Roots, D’Angelo, Pharcyde, De La Soul, and on and on.)
Busta breaks down his creative process, why "Still Shining" took weeks to write, how his daughter Cie ended up on the record, and why he feels Dilla's presence in the music. We also take a trip through hip-hop history, from his early days as a founding member of Leaders of the New School, to how jumping on A Tribe Called Quest’s "Scenario" changed his life, to the making of "Woo Hah!!" and his iconic Hype Williams music videos.
