Description

(side note: hey - do you remember the first time we met at the boats and birds video? or maybe it was a different song.. well, maybe we haven't changed at all since then: just two kids sitting somewhere magical on the farm, feeling it all as the waves come in.

I had a moment of self conscious pause when i hit "upload" on this video while thinking of me/my sound juxtaposed against the overwhelming ocean of TikTok talent and AI entering the chat in gigantic ways to create art.. and i realized how grateful i am that i have never used a green screen, edited out the crow of a rooster, or pretended to be something i am not.. what a joy it is to represent simpler times as we venture further away from them. i would rather weave the fuck-ups into the song and always remember the beauty of being flawed as the world moves to edit imperfection. life is that way. amidst all the weirdness and flux in the world, this part of me has not changed - and i am so happy for you that joins me there and still comes back maybe not for the progress, but for the momentary stillness. these videos, thrown out into the ocean sporadically over the course of the last 15 years or so, are my messages in a bottle.)

the sad and changing winds of life have dulled my senses about the things I love - for a while now.. music is usually the first to go when i am self insulating because - just as it provides a rich path to healing - it opens the highway for deep emotional pain and i've only been able to bear life at a pedestrian's pace. i am gingerly making my way back though, one vibration at a time.. here's some noise i'd like to share for now. it's far from the skillful and coordinated i crave to be, but it's real and it's honest. i hope, somewhere and sometime, this wraps someone in velvet the way the original did the first time it found me.

i love you so very much,
kels
