A few months after My Father passed away many years ago, I found a jar of hot oil in my Mothers cabinet, she told me to take it and when the jar got low I decided I wanted to start the tradition of making hot oil also, so when I made my batch and it cooled I added what was left of my Dads oil to my new batch,from that point on every Christmas season I make new oil and add the rest of last year’s batch to honor not only my Italian heritage to pass to my children but also to remind me of the gifts my father and parents gave me while they were alive.
