Description
Join me for a 3-day camping and saltwater fishing adventure on Florida’s Gulf Coast as I camp at Oscar Scherer State Park and fish the famous North Venice Jetty in Nokomis, Florida. This jetty is considered by many anglers to be one of the best jetty fishing spots in Florida, attracting fishermen from all over the state.
Over the course of this adventure I’m targeting sheepshead, Spanish mackerel, and pompano while fishing the rocks of the North Venice Jetty. Jetty fishing can be incredibly productive, but it also requires patience, the right bait, and a willingness to put in the work. With fiddler crabs on the hook and rods in the water, the goal is simple: fish hard and see what the Gulf of Mexico has to offer.
After long days of fishing, I head back to camp at Oscar Scherer State Park to cook some great meals, relax around the fire, and enjoy the full Florida camping experience. From early morning jetty fishing sessions to sunset at camp, this trip turned into an unforgettable southwest Florida fishing adventure.
