Dr Ashwin Porwal is a Pune-based procto-surgeon and the founder of Healing Hands Clinic.He has developed a technique - Distal Laser Proximal Ligation (DLPL), to cure anal fistulas.
Dr Porwal received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Excellence in Healthcare in 2015 for his contribution to the medical and health sector in India.He has also performed the pelvic organ prolapse suspension surgery (POPS) and stapled trans anal rectal resection surgery (STARR).His research paper n DLPL earned him several accolades at the World Congress on Proctology, WorldCon 2017.
