Description
On March 2nd, 2042; forces of the 2nd Armored Division and 9th OAAR Division made land fall on New Vladivostok, within the Connolly System. specifically on the port town of Kytia in attempts to establish a base of operations within the hardened bunker systems underneath. Within a few days of fighting, the city was taken and secured with further advances inland being achieved within days after that. At 02:33, a breach in the line was made and Redwood armor surged through, causing the entire front to fall apart rather quickly, despite all efforts to re organize and counter attack and an emergency transmission has been sent out to any and all local forces to provide support as Soon as Possible.
The nearest local forces able to respond are TF Rare, 47th Mobile Infantry Division, 16th Mobile Infantry Division, and 20th Ranger Regiment. As it stands, forces are in transport in sub light speed ETA 2 days.
The city of Kytia is of vital importance on New Vladivostok, as it is the main landing zone for coalition forces to reinforce units from orbit down planet side and with allied forces on the back foot, it is of the utmost importance that it remains or SC forces are going to be forced to retreat and restart the efforts in getting forces on the ground and back into the fight, more thank likely requiring units from the backline to step into the fire. That being said, upon arrival, 2nd Armored forces will continue to fight for the north, while the 47th MID and AEF attached forces apply pressure on the RW forces within the southern flank of the city. We do not have the luxury of arriving into a secure LZ, even with forces holding the line around the planned drop point, Redwood AAA batteries and MANPADs have been reported to still be taking out drop ships in the air, so for the time being, they will be our primary target.
As it stands, the main route within Kytia is labeled on maps as Route Coyote, and will be used as the limit of Advance between AOs for both units within the city, as to not cause confusion across command structure.
Taking command of this mission, is Col Mayfield of 3rd Battalion, 20th Ranger Regiment and Lt Col McVay of 1st Battalion, 47th MID, due to the result of the ongoing battle, Major Kaleb King "King Krab" has been declared MIA. At this time, the 9th OAAR's aviation wings are still able to provide local CAS to a limited degree, but even with the air still relatively clear of enemy air, momentum is being lost fast. So speed is of the essence.
