Louvre Abu Dhabi, the first universal museum in the Arab world, continues to welcome visitors from around the globe. Since its inauguration in 2017, the Abu Dhabi museum has significantly contributed to the region’s rapidly evolving art and culture scene, showcasing both ancient and contemporary artworks. During this exclusive tour, Ayesha Shehmir speaks to Director Manuel Rabaté about the evolution of the museum, its role in expanding art education, and the place of contemporary art in a universal story of human creativity. We’re also taken on a tour through some of the masterpieces of the museum’s permanent collection, including a special work that has recently arrived from Musée du Louvre, leaving the Paris museum for the very first time.
