Description
Armani Greer joins Brandon Champ Robinson on the Imagination Upgraded Podcast to talk about playing Jasmine in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again?, booking the role with one self-tape, and what it really takes to work on a Tyler Perry set.
From audition rejection and finding a manager to filming in Italy and Atlanta, Armani shares the work behind the opportunity. We get into acting classes, imposter syndrome, building an artist mission statement, the pressure of working with two takes, and her experience alongside Taraji P. Henson, Tasha Smith, and Jill Scott.
Armani also opens up about being in survival mode before the booking, learning to celebrate her wins, and why “booking the room” can matter even when you don’t book the role. Recorded in front of a live studio audience, this conversation brings practical acting advice, behind-the-scenes stories, and plenty of laughs.
Spoiler note: The Jasmine and Wesley discussion beginning at 36:18 includes plot details from Why Did I Get Married Again?
