Description
Early in the development of the ABM (Anti-ballistic Missile program) that system hardware had to be able to survive nuclear effects. Hardening tests have been taking place over a number of years beginning in 1959. At a test range in Canada, shaped explosive charges were used to simulated blast effects of nuclear weapons.
