Director Sachin Saraf and Actors Esha Deol & Amit Sadh join Filmfare for an exclusive conversation about their upcoming film Pratap which follows the story of a decorated encounter specialist cop Pratap Ranade, who becomes a target of the system & gets framed for wrongly. Sachin Saraf shares about the vision he had for making Pratap and the gradual process of casting for the characters he wrote. He mentions how Amit Sadh fit the role as he could balance between being an angry young man as well as exhibit vulnerability. Esha Deol plays Amit Sadh's wife in the film, elaborating on that she says how her role isn't limited to being the stereotypical wife of a police officer. She even shares how men need women's emotional support which does make them vulnerable in the process. Further talking about her mother Hema Malini, she mentions how they have shared a simple mother-daughter equation and haven't at length discussed the technicalities of films & playing characters on screen.
