About a week ago, I noticed tiny looking strings on the bark of only one (thank goodness it was only one) of my fig trees. After some research and with the help of friends, I found out it was infested by the Ambrosia beetle. Tiny beetles that dig into the soft bark from either stressed, diseased or newly pruned trees.
I’ve decided to cut it down to the root ball and hopefully stop it from spreading to my other trees since I didn’t find any treatments for the already infested tree. In hopes of it growing back since figs usually grow back with ease from a heavy pruning as long as the root ball stays intact.
Any information and tips for myself and others with the same issue is greatly appreciated. Also, feel free to like, comment and subscribe for updates on my fig tree.
Thanks,
Yesenia
