For my dime, this is her best song with Union Station, where she is also accompanied by dobro master Jerry Douglas. She just glides through this song...bringing out all the lovely colors with her smoothest of styles. Alison's recording of this song won the 1996 Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.
We have some very skilled female vocalists in this world, but I'm not sure I've heard a voice more pure than Alison's. Karen Carpenter and Eva Cassidy were both among that elite group.
