Today we’re headed to a remote, privately owned airport on Catalina Island. The island is located roughly 22 miles off the coast of Southern California. It takes about an hour to get there by boat, and 15 minutes by air. The Airport in the Sky runway is a mere 3000 feet in length and sits at the highest point of the island at 1600 feet high. It was recently refurbished in January of 2019.
