Vishwash Kumar Ramesh is the sole survivor of the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171, which occurred on June 12, 2025. The flight, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner en route from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, crashed shortly after takeoff, resulting in the deaths of over 290 people, including all passengers and crew on board
Ramesh, a 40-year-old British national, was seated in seat 11A. He was in India visiting family and was returning to London with his elder brother, Ajay Kumar Ramesh, who was seated in a different row and remains missing. Ramesh sustained injuries to his face, chest, and feet but managed to escape the wreckage. He was reportedly pulled from the debris by rescuers and is currently receiving treatment at Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad
