In 2019 Tulsa PD stole my AR pistol because they thought the handstop was a Vertical Foregrip. Tulsa PD gave it to the ATF. The ATF tried to claim it was an unregistered Short Barrel Rifle (SBR) AND Machine Gun (MG) because it had a Franklin Arms Binary trigger. the Federal Proscuter in NE Oklahoma district Court declined charges and the AR pistol was not a violation of law. the ATF refused to return it. Years went by. I hired Texas Attorney CJ Grisham to help get it back. He got the agents to agree to return it without the trigger. The Tulsa ATF office said the Legal Department of the ATF in Washington DC refused to relinquish it. CJ Grisham wanted to take this to court but he was not Bar certified in Oklahoma so the case ended. I kept trying to get the gun returned but to no Avail. CJ Grisham laid the groundwork to get my AR Pistol returned and he is an Absolute amazing attorney.
When the ATF offered free SBR tax stamps in March 2023 I applied. It took 2.5 years to get the tax stamp approved, I got it in Dec 2025. It was actually approved while the gun was in ATF custody.
In June 2025 John Crump of Ammoland and John Crump News helped get Gun owners Of America involved. GOA went to court and won in court to get the Gun returned.
6 months later the ATF Legal dept still refused to return it.
On Dec 10 2025 I contacted Oklahoma Senator MarkWayne Mullins and lodged a request for help. 3 days later the ATF called On Dec 15 asking me where I can meet them to pickup my SBR. We met in McLoud, OK and was handed my SBR after 6 years. US Senator Mullins accomplished in 3 days what no one else could. The trigger was removed and confiscated by the ATF.
