Description
June 15th is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. It’s a day dedicated to raising awareness about the abuse, neglect, and exploitation that many older adults face.
In the U.S. alone, an estimated 1 in 10 older Americans experience some form of abuse annually. Addressing this critical issue, in this episode of ACAMS Live, Craig Timm is joined by Clark-Flynt-Barr, Government Affairs Director, Financial Security for AARP, a non-profit organization championing the interests of older Americans.
They discussed the pervasive problem of elder abuse, with a particular emphasis on financial exploitation. They analyzed current trends and typologies, outline available resources for victims, and explore how we can support those affected and help combat this terrible crime.
