Description
It's that man again, Johnny Pate, who signed this four man Chicago team from Smash records...releasing fully 7 45s with his new guys, he obviously believed in. Even though he was working with The Impressions and several other Chicago Soul artists.
This is The Trends most-wanted, least seen 45. Their very best Northern Soul dancer; which is really saying something, as their two 45s before this release were storming Northern Soul dancers. "Not Too Old To Cry" a hugely popular dancer both sides of the North Sea with Belgium Popcorn clubs loving its Latin vibe, just as much as the Brits. Then there's the so far, neglected vocal-group stomper, "I'm Gonna Have To Show You" which will surely have its day in the sun.
But "Thanks For A Little Lovin' " leaves everything that went before it, in its wake. By far their most impressive 45 and ironically their hardest to acquire. The reaching lead vocal stretches out in appreciation of his lady. Riding potent Johnny Pate keyboard pulses, whilst the rest of the team, are either ringing out the hook-line or enriching the background with perfectly harmonized oohs and arhs; Whilst Johnny Pate fills in the spaces with full-blown honkin' horns. To complete a charging avalanche of Chicago male group Northern Soul.
So rich, so smooth but packing a big punch, that has ignited each and every Northern Soul dancefloor up and down the land for the last three decades, with no sign of its of it ever not triggering the dancefloor stampede...
Here is the highly desirable VINYL press, in fabulously clean condition.
