Welcome to the crater lake national park in the Oregon state.
The lake lies inside a caldera, or volcanic basin, and was created when the Mount Mazama collapsed more than 7000 years ago following a large eruption. Because the lake is filled almost entirely by snowfall, it is one of the clearest lakes in the world.
This volcanic island resembles a wizard’s hat and rises 767 feet above Crater Lake's surface. During the summer, Wizard Island boat tours go around the lake’s perimeter and let you spend three hours on the island. That gives you plenty of time to hike, take in the panoramic views and explore this unique part of the park.
Crater Lake is open all year, but the summer season is no doubt the most popular for the park, when the weather is pleasant and sunny.
there is a 2 mile long trail and when you arrive at the lake you can relax watching the friendly squirrels or take a dip in the crystal clear waters
At 1,943 feet, Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the United States and one of the deepest in the world.
Emerging about 160 feet above the surface of Crater Lake, this 300 foot island resembles a sailing ship, Depending on the weather conditions, the Phantom Ship seems to appear and disappear from sight, giving the formation its otherworldly nickname.
