Lucian's introduction to the ANZ comes from branch manager Andrew. He explains the customer services officer role is all about giving great service. Lucian meets Mita, who takes him under her wing to show him one of the basics of the job -- counting money. After showing him the technique, she leaves him to count several bundles returning after half an hour to find he's only managed to count three! Letting him off the hook, she shows him the modern equivalent of counting by hand which has the cash counted within moments.
While Lucian skips the usual five week training programme, he is able to have a taste of what it's like to work with a customer. Having experienced what can be a very busy role, Lucian is ready to check out another career within the banking environment.
