As I mentioned in the video, the best drives for this are drives specifically made for surveillance systems. Besides better data transfer, they run cooler and use less energy. I linked the Purple drive above.
I think this system may be particularly useful for certain small businesses as the monitor and recorder are unobtrusive and dead silent. The monitor has an on/off switch right in the front and can be turned off without shutting the system down.
