Never before have I had a long-term test expose a fatal flaw as we saw with our winter test of the 2026 Lexus RZ 550e. Before you run for the hills from anything with the RZ initials, a big caveat is that the flaw is unique to this specific trim that we tested and a final-week session in the RZ 450e showed that the middle spec in the lineup is indeed a Goldilocks choice. Having lived with the RZ 550e for three months, we had plenty of time to experience its performance, closely examine its interior tech, appreciate the luxury trimmings, and see where it excels and struggles in the day-to-day life of a busy Canadian family.
