Description
West Coast swing moves can look hard, but they get easy the second you see what they are built from. These three west coast swing moves look advanced on the social dance floor, yet every one of them is a variation of a pattern you already lead. Nothing new to learn from scratch.
This is a next step video for dancers who already have a basic inside turn and a sugar tuck. Brian B. and Miss Megan break each move down in real time, showing where the hand changes, when to over rotate, and how the anchor step sets up the next move. If your west coast swing moves feel stuck in the same four patterns, this is where they open up. Everything comes back to push, pass and whip, and once you see the pattern tree you cannot unsee it.
✅ Move 1: Extended walks out of the inside turn, using a hand change and two-beat walking increments
✅ Move 2: The rock and go, led from an over-rotated sugar tuck
✅ Move 3: Roll her in and finish with the bow tie, plus the rock and go exit and the opposite hand pickup
✅ The hot shot variation: triple step underneath into a low back anchor step
✅ The connection details that make all three read pro level: left hand up first, over-rotate the anchor, keep the walks in two-beat increments
