I spent 3 days shore fishing the beaches and bridges along Florida’s Gulf Coast, chasing pompano using jigs and teasers, and this trip turned into an awesome mix of action, food, and time on the water.

Most of this adventure takes place around the Sarasota area, working stretches like Lido Beach and fishing bridges around Longboat Key, moving spot to spot trying to stay on the bite. Along the way, I get into a variety of fish you can expect when fishing these waters, and a couple of those catches turn into fresh meals right there by the water.
This style of fishing is simple but effective—covering water, reading the conditions, and putting in the time. Some sessions heat up fast, others take a little patience, but that’s all part of chasing fish along these beaches and bridges.
I also mix in some real moments from the trip—stopping by the tackle shop to grab jigs and teasers, getting geared up in the mornings, and just enjoying the day-to-day rhythm of being out there. It’s not just about the fishing… it’s about the full experience.
