2 ways of Capping Metal Tubing/Pipe – Metal Fab Welding Project.

Description

The 2 ways I cap a round metal tube / Pipe. Making or finding something for the end cap, and welding it on using a MIG welder.

I think capped pipes always look much better than an open end on a pipe, and most of the time it does not take long to do, and it keeps the water and the spiders from getting inside them.

I tend to look around for a bit of scrap metal that I can cut a bit off, to make the end cap. In one of the two end caps in the video, I used a bolt to insert into the pipe. If I did not see that bolt, I would have just cut a bit of scrap steel to fit inside the pipe to weld. For the 2nd one, I cut a bit of scrap for the end cap.

The project that I was making these end caps for, was "I Make a Firepit for Campfire Cooking, Dutch Oven, Rotisserie Cooking - Swing-out Grill + Pot Hanger" The link is below.
