Description
14 days across Syria. A journey through history, war, destruction, faith, resilience, and hope.
Join us on an extraordinary documentary journey across Syria with L’Œuvre d’Orient, discovering a country whose extraordinary cultural heritage and ancient civilizations have been deeply affected by years of conflict.
Traveling from Lebanon into Syria, we explore historic cities, Christian communities, ancient churches, monasteries, villages, and neighborhoods marked by war.
From the historic streets of Damascus to the communities of northeastern Syria, this documentary takes you beyond the headlines to meet the people who continue to preserve their faith, traditions, culture, and identity.
Together with L’Œuvre d’Orient, an organization supporting Eastern Christian communities, we visit religious institutions, schools, churches, and humanitarian projects working to restore hope and rebuild communities.
Throughout this journey, we discover:
• Damascus, its ancient streets, religious heritage, and historical landmarks.
• The Christian heritage of Syria and its centuries-old churches and monasteries.
• Communities affected by years of war, displacement, and destruction.
• The extraordinary diversity of Syria’s Christian traditions.
• Humanitarian initiatives supporting education, families, and vulnerable communities.
• The stories of Syrian families determined to rebuild their lives.
• The remarkable history, architecture, culture, and landscapes of Syria.
• The resilience, generosity, and hospitality of the Syrian people.
This is not simply a travel documentary. It is a human journey into the heart of a country that has experienced tremendous suffering while preserving an extraordinary cultural and spiritual legacy.
Syria is more than the images of war we have seen for years. It is a country of history, civilization, traditions, beautiful landscapes, and remarkable people.
Through this documentary, we hope to share their stories, preserve their memories, and highlight the importance of protecting Syria’s heritage and supporting its communities.
Special thanks to L’Œuvre d’Orient and everyone who welcomed us throughout this unforgettable journey.
